Carl's response: We formed the SOM back in 1993, well before Militias came under criticism for allowing racists into their midst. It was people like Martin Lindstedt who ruined the Militia name, in my opinion, and certainly not us. However, we have never made it a secret that our group, and all other solid, constitutional Militias throughout the United States, reject racism and anti-Semitism as being un-American and anti-Constitution. As such, anyone who promotes racism and anti-Semitism, whether it be as Aryan Nations or under the guise of "religion", as in so-called Christian Identity, is a domestic enemy of the United States of America. Since we, as a true constitutional Militia of American citizens, are sworn to uphold and defend the Constitution of the United States against all enemies, both foreign and domestic, we will cooperate with any federal government agency in exposing the names of individuals promoting racism and/or anti-Semitism on the Internet or wherever we find them. Now, if the designation of racist or Jew-basher fits Mike, then he definitely has something to worry about. If Mike is just a good, solid Militia member concerned about abuses by the federal government, then he has nothing to worry about. We are not going to allow enemies of the United States to hide amongst us like ravening wolves among the sheep, therefore we have taken extraordinary steps to separate ourselves in the eyes of the federal government from the CI freaks and other racist-led groups, whether they call themselves Militia, Klan or Aryan Nations. What exposed all Militias to public vilification was that certain groups allowed racists to infiltrate them. The media found out about it and exploited it. We have worked directly with the FBI and other government groups to understand there is a vast difference in both word and especially DEED, between groups generically referred to as "Militia" by the media, and although the media still blurs all Militias as one, the active government agencies now know the difference. We have separated the chaff from the wheat, and you racists and Jew-bashing cowards would be well-advised to climb back under your rocks.
