![]() Taliaferro Think Tank (TTT) and NATIONAL MAD AS HELL DAY.![]() Heard live on KGO 10:00pm - 5:00am M-F Also Sunshine Tony Wong Action Figure - Margot Magowan Team Pussy Links THE REAL AXIS OF EVIL?12MAR2002 David Corn, an infiltraitor? Are AlterNet and The Nation "fronting" as Progressive? It was sickening to read David Corn's snyde-ass rap against Mike Ruppert for the 911/Anthrax piece. I meant to say David Corn shouted "Fire!" in the (street) theater with his "free speech" and brings shame to The Nation in the process. I really would like to know where he's coming from, but we won't likely find out because technically he squirreled his article at a safe distance away from The Nation, as it was an AlterNet article, which I learned about via The Black World Today. I'm not even sure why Corn's article was so widely circulated. A good many of the pieces published in TBWT are "black interest" articles; racism and discrimination, sure enough, but also education, culture, personalities, Jazz and Black History, and so on. I mean, TBWT doesn't usually deal with middle of the road issues. The 911/Anthrax article isn't necessarily middle of the road but it is one click away from bringing down the status quo (click right) or is planted as a means of bringing down the (click left) progressives. I've never been keen on how far to the right The Nation is to have not called for the kind of political Revolution needed that would have prevented the 911 and Anthrax incidents in the first place. They intellectualize progressive issues, when fairness in labor and international affairs, and going to the wall for it is all that's necessary. The Nation brings us some of the most politically heads up news, pointing to the most important issues of the day so I can't complain too much. I hope Mike will communicate with The Black World Today editors, to be sure since they linked to Corn's non-Nation article so placed on the AlterNet, so TBWT might also link to Mike's "answer" to Corn. I am concerned about what happened to Mike at the hands of a member of The Nation crowd, because I feel like one of our own caused harm to one of our own, and I just can't figure WHY! Mike's own response is that, "David Corn is not now, and never has been, "one of us." I have known this for years. But teaching progressives the extent to which they have been infiltrated is like trying to tell an alcoholic to stop drinking..." At this juncture, even if we're Jews or Muslims, or Israeli or Palestinian, or tend to be supportive of one over the other, the real enemy is Duh & Company (aka George WWIII & Company), and the U.S Supreme Court members who "selected" Bush, and overrode the will of the people of the United States, who actually "elected" Gore, and the Enrons of the business world are our enemies, and all "domestic" at that. I am concerned that that which is becoming American foreign policy on the International scene is making enemies of the whole wide world, except the Brits, and quasi-Christian evangelist types world wide of the Billy Graham Jew-hating and son Franklin Muslim-hating ilk. The latest George WWIII revelation of threatening Bush Family enemies with (small) nuclear weapons, makes me wonder just exactly how sane they are compared to Hitler. Or as the traitor (I'm also a Democrat) Ralph Nader said, there wasn't a dime's worth of difference between the Demos and Republicans. Ralph Nader is a nut... California Governor Gray Davis, a Democrat, pumped millions of dollars into defeating the opponent of the Republican he would prefer to run against in the November 2002 Election. It worked. The moderate Republican who would have given the not-so-popular governor a run for his money was soundly defeated, so instead Gray will run against the son of Bill Simon (of Nixon administration fame, with no Watergate taint). Watergate or not, the son is a real right winger who cannot be elected in California no matter how unhappy the California voters are for Gray's handling of the Enron-related "energy crisis" that so rocked California. I only mention Nader and Davis in this context because of what Ralphy-boy said about the difference or not between Republicans and Democrats, when it may be truer that there isn't dime's worth of difference between the Republicans and the Nazis. On page 41 of Harry & Ike, it is said that Eisenhowwer opposed the use of nuclear weapons, favoring a conventional mop-up of Japan in a war that so close to ending anyhow, speaking of nuclear sanity or outright evil residing in the Oral Office. God, all that we should have to worry about is who is giving head to the head in the head, and sometimes I wonder how much money the Republicans poured into the Nader campaign for the purpose of aiding in Nader's third party "spoiler" possibilities. My heart aches for America, and for the "Greens" who could have been duped into "voting their conscience" instead of being practical enough to affect change within the two party system under the (then) circumstances; taking the chance of allowing George HW's own CIA-Jr blood and their off-the-shelfers into the White House and in such close proximity to the U.S. Treasury. Would the Republicans give us a Reagan/Bush re-run? Yes they would, and yes they did and are even as the defense budget grows by billions every day, and justified by our being at war which would not have been the case if Gore had been elected. Huh? I am afraid for our future as Americans who knew freedom like no others in all the world; that we as a people are being taken down the kind of path Hitler led the "good Germans" of the 1930s, where the only resistance was at the "Cabaret" level, and we see how far that got movie making. Today, The Nation (magazine) is (or was) our Cabaret, and we see how Titanics do sink, don't they? Originally from L.A., I became a Kesey kind of ("Sometimes a Great Notion") Oregonian in 1957; i.e., we never give up, and we're not giving up our America to the likes of George HW, George WWIII or Enron - although Enron bought Portland General Electric and brought retirement disaster to the PGE employees, starting with questioning the motives of The Nation's editor David Corn, and even AlterNet these days, for covering the alt virginity or not of Britney Spears. Neither would it hurt to learn how it came to be that TBWT linked to Corn's story but not to Ruppert's answer to Corn. The Corn 911/Anthrax blast capping on Ruppert seemed a little out of place in TBWT unless Corn and/or Ruppert are black Jazz musicians or comedians OR unless TBWT found amusement in staging a good place for a good fight between a couple of white guys who don't cover black issues all that much. 11MAR2002 HUAC - House of Un-American Activists Under the spell of George WWIII [And since John Ashcroft, the list grows on...] The CDC Sex Site Has Some Eyes Sore, a Wired article by Declan McCullagh. Enron Corporation of Houston is among a handful of a new generation of independent electric power brokers and producers that have reaped giant revenue increases from California's power shortages and higher natural gas prices nationwide. According to the January 2001 AP report. "Right behind Enron in campaign contributions from energy companies was Atlanta based Southern Co., whose Southern Energy subsidiary, recently renamed Mirant, is an electricity supplier in California." The 21JAN2002 edition of Time features Enron Spoils the Party - Bush wants his State of the Union speech to drown out those stories linking Enron and the White House; an extensive article by Michael Duffy and John Dickerson, with reporting by Cathy Booth Thomas (Dallas), and Karen Tumulty and Michael Weisskopf (Washington). The smoking gun.
